Volvo Buses has announced that Vy Flygbussarna will become the first operator to put its new electric coach, the Volvo BZR Electric – CD, into commercial service on the Gothenburg–Landvetter Airport route this spring.
The introduction of the vehicle marks a major step in Volvo’s electrification journey, with the operator set to become the first company to utilise the model in regular service.

Equipped with seven batteries, the Volvo BZR Electric – CD features a total capacity of 630 kWh, and has been developed utilising a versatile and modular design, enabling operators to choose an experience tailored to their specific needs.
The bus features an ergonomic instrument cluster, as well as adjustable seating, and can accommodate up to 67 passengers, offering both onboard Wi-Fi and USB charging.
Martin Spjern, Country Manager Sweden at Volvo Buses, said:We are delighted that Vy flygbussarna will be the first to operate the Volvo BZR Electric – CD.
Our long-standing partnership is built on trust and shared ambitions, and Vy flygbussarna’s decision to continue its electrification journey with us is a clear vote of confidence, and a testament to our commitment as a long-term partner.
Once delivered, the vehicle will provide services on the route connecting Gothenburg city centre and Landvetter Airport. Its worldwide debut will come during the Busstorget fair in Halmstad, Sweden on 16–17 April 2026.
