Daimler Buses Schweiz AG has been awarded a contract for the planning and implementation of a charging infrastructure at the Rütihof bus depot in Wädenswil on Lake Zurich for Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn SZU AG (SZU).

SZU’s largest bus-depot, Rütihof will receive 43 CCS2 charging points in the existing bus garage, with several planned to be installed by the end of 2026 with a DC rapid charging capacity of up to 150kW per vehicle.

The investment has been valued at around 7.3 million CHF (approximately 7.8 million EUR)

The investment has been valued at around 7.3 million CHF (7.8 million EUR), and serves as the fourth e-bus depot Daimler Buses has implemented as a turnkey contractor in Switzerland and integrated into existing buildings.

Daimler Buses Schweiz AG is set to take full responsibility for the entire charging infrastructure, including all planning, construction and installation services.

The project team will include partners Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn SZU AG, EBP Schweiz AG, AHW Busbetriebe AG, ABB E‑mobility AG, WV Baumanagement AG, Impuls Bern AG and Sinos GmbH.

In addition; AHW Busbetriebe AG, which operates on behalf of SZU, has ordered 13 battery-electric Mercedez-Benz eCitaro solo and articulated buses from Daimler Buses, all of which will be equipped with latest-generation NMC4 batteries.

Delivery of the buses is set to take place in stages between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027.
