SYSTRA Canada has been awarded a contract for the City of Ottawa’s zero-emission bus project.
SYSTRA will provide a full peer review of the programme in partnership with RATP Dev and Anser Advisory.

Ottawa’s zero-emission bus project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 100% below 2012 levels by 2040 by providing residents with more environmentally friendly public transport.
In aid of reaching its goal, the city has stated intentions to purchase 354 battery-electric buses by the end of 2027.
Samuel Derosiaux, Senior Vice President, Transportation, SYSTRA Canada, said:We are honored to support the City of Ottawa in its transition to electric buses. This initiative marks an important step towards sustainable urban mobility and underscores SYSTRA's commitment to advancing sustainable transportation solutions.
With a focus on innovation and sustainable development, we are proud to continue leading the way in shaping the public transportation of tomorrow.
The review carried out by SYSTRA will aim to provide a comprehensive assessment of the programme, evaluating the contribution of electric buses to the city’s Climate Change Master Plan, the potential risks involved in the programme’s implementation, opportunities for improvements and how any risks might be mitigated whilst maximising the project’s potential.
Carlos Hernandez, project manager, SYSTRA Canada, said:SYSTRA Canada's reputation for electric bus projects around the world makes us a partner of choice for this initiative.
Our team is committed to providing opinions and recommendations that will help the City of Ottawa achieve its environmental objectives and improve the efficiency of its public transit system.
