Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is urging passengers to plan ahead as a number of major events are set to take place across the city tomorrow night (05 November 2025).

Travel in and around the eastern side of the city is expected to be particularly busy, with Manchester City playing Borussia Dortmund in the Champion’s League and the Busted vs McFly concert taking place at Coop Live.

A large number of events across the city have led TfGM to issue an advisory notice to passengers looking to travel on Bonfire Night

A wide range of Bonfire Night celebrations are also set to take place across the city-region, with roads and public transport all expected to be far busier than usual.

In order to combat this; TfGM has advised passengers to plan and allow extra time to make any and all journeys across the city. Trams run every six minutes from the city centre to the Etihad Campus, with hundreds of park and ride spaces available across the Metrolink network.

There are also a number of matchday buses dedicated to carrying those to and from the Manchester City game, as well as a walking route from Piccadilly Station which takes approximately 25 minutes.

TfGM’s Chief Network Officer, Danny Vaughan, said:

We’re expecting a very busy evening across the network, with tens of thousands heading into the city for football, live music and Bonfire Night events. Our advice is simple: plan ahead, allow extra time, and consider using free park and ride options to beat the traffic.

We will have as many staff as possible on the network and be running as many services as we can to ensure that the Bee Network is here to help you get where you need to go quickly and safely.
