Transport for London (TfL) has revealed a first look at its new Bakerloop buses, which will commence service from 27 September.

The Bakerloop BL1 service will connect Waterloo, Elephant & Castle, and Lewisham. The route will pass through key areas including Burgess Park, Old Kent Road, New Cross Gate, Lewisham station, and Lewisham town centre.

This service aims to enhance transport links in southeast London while demonstrating the potential benefits of the Bakerloo line rail extension.

The buses will operate every 12 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes and every 15 minutes during Sundays, evenings and early mornings.

The new BL1 route launches this weekend, and pay-as-you-go fares will be free until 5 October. Passengers must still touch in with a valid Oyster or contactless card upon boarding, but the fare will be charged as 0 GBP.
