Ticketer Hosts Ceremony for the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: Innovation 2020

Last week, Ticketer was honoured to be  presented with the coveted and prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: Innovation 2020. Being one of just 66 organisations nationally to be awarded, Ticketer was the only company in the bus industry to receive the accolade, recognised for its corporate excellence and innovation.

Queen's Awards
L-R: John Clarfelt – Ticketer Founder, Sir James Puxley – Lord-Lieutenant in the Royal County of Berkshire and Andy Monshaw – Ticketer Group CEO.

Ticketer was set up in 2009 and is now the UK’s most innovative smart ticketing systems supplier, offering market-leading ticketing software technology, combined with personalised, responsive support. Its Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETM’s) are designed for operators’ needs, driving insights, and providing valuable information to ensure the best possible experience for their passengers. Ticketer won the award by demonstrating how its unique, ongoing, product innovation has significantly improved its own commercial performance over the last five years, whilst aiding operators across the sector to enhance their passenger proposition.

Now in its 55th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most esteemed business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the admired Queen’s Awards emblem for the following five years. Ticketer’s award was announced in April 2020, but due to the Covid pandemic it was not able to receive the royal presentation until last week.

John Clarfelt, Ticketer’s Founder, comments:

“This is a very emotional day for us, and a great cause for celebration. This really has been a tremendous team effort, not just from the Ticketer Team, but from our customers, suppliers, and friends across the industry. I really feel incredibly humbled to receive such a prestigious award. All we have done is bring alive what bus operators have asked the industry to deliver, and so we are proud to accept this achievement on behalf of our amazing friends and colleagues in the sector, who have been loyal supporters, and with us every step of the way.”

The Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire announced:

“It is such a great honour for me to come to companies like Ticketer, who are the best at what they do. I congratulate you all on your remarkable achievement.”
