Transdev Nederland Holding has placed a significant order with Solaris Bus & Coach for 96 electric buses to be delivered by the end of 2025.

The battery-powered buses will be deployed in the Dutch province of Utrecht, supporting Transdev’s strategy to transition its fleet to zero-emission vehicles.

This new fleet of Solaris electric buses will serve Utrecht’s extensive public transportation network, which includes 50 bus lines, accommodating around 30 million passengers annually.

The buses will be equipped with Solaris’ High Energy battery system, designed for high capacity and reduced charging frequency for all-day operations.

Transdev Nederland has previous experience with Solaris vehicles. Its subsidiary Connexxion operates 20 hydrogen-powered Urbino 12 buses in South Holland, while Solaris Trollino 18 trolleybuses have been in service in Arnhem for several months.
