Equipmake has announced it has secured a contract with Golden Tours to repower ten Volvo B5 London Tour Buses.
The contract, which will see Equipmake install its proprietary Zero-Emission Drivetrain (ZED) into the buses, comes in the wake of an initial 2 million GBP order from Golden Tours earlier this year.
“Golden Tours is a leading tour and activity company in London and across the UK, and I am pleased to announce it has followed its February order with another substantial commitment for Equipmake-repowered buses. Equipmake’s ZED is a modular, scalable electrification solution equipped with a set of the company’s own in-house developed technology, including an electric motor, inverter and power electronics, all of which are powered by lithium-ion batteries.
Once repowered, the buses will be able to recharge at depots via the use of a CCS DS charging point.
