Young people aged 16 to 19 in the East Riding are benefiting from reduced bus fares this summer, with the return of a discount scheme first introduced in 2024.
From Saturday 19 July until Sunday 31 August, eligible passengers can travel on local bus services for 1.50 GBP each way or 3 GBP for a return ticket.
The scheme is being delivered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in partnership with local operators East Yorkshire Buses and Stagecoach Hull.

The discount will also be available during the October half-term, Christmas holidays, and February 2026 half-term break.
Funded through the Government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), the initiative aims to support young people by making travel more affordable during the school holidays.
Councillor Nick Coultish, the council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said:Last year’s discount scheme proved popular and so we have brough it back for 2025 to benefit young passengers.
Young people rely on buses to get around so we hope they will take advantage of this discount. Thank you to local bus operators for supporting this scheme.
To qualify for the reduced fare, the journey must be entirely within the East Riding or either start or end within the area.
The offer is only valid on services operated by East Yorkshire Buses and Stagecoach Hull. Proof of age may be requested when boarding.
This scheme runs alongside the national Bus Fare Cap, which currently allows all passengers to travel on most single journeys for 3 GBP until the end of March 2027.
