The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has exercised an option to secure an additional six Solaris electric buses following the initial signing of a contract in December 2024.

The option, which will see vehicles delivered for use by King County Metro, consists of three 40-foot battery-electric buses and three 6o-foot articulated battery-electric buses

Featuring specifications closely aligned with those ordered by King County Metro; the vehicles will be tailored to meet the specific needs of San Francisco.

To date, Solaris has secured contracts to deliver battery-electric buses to Seattle, as well as trolleybuses to Vancouver, Canada, with the company having delivered more than 6,000 zero-emission vehicles across nearly 30 countries.
