In the High Desert region of California, the Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) has unveiled 13 new hydrogen fuel cell buses, an interim hydrogen fueling station, and updated agency branding.

The buses produce zero tailpipe emissions, emitting only water, and are intended to support the authority’s shift towards lower-emission public transport while maintaining reliable service across the High Desert region.

The operator has also marked the launch of its new branding, replacing “Victor Valley Transit” with “VVTA” to strengthen regional identity and consistency across the agency’s communications and vehicles.

VVTA officials said the combined introduction of buses, fueling infrastructure, and branding supports the authority’s goals of safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible public transport while positioning the High Desert region as a participant in emerging clean transit technologies.

VVTA CEO Nancie Goff said:

Today’s unveiling is more than new buses or a fueling station, it’s a statement about our responsibility to the communities we serve and the environment we share. By introducing 13 hydrogen fuel cell buses and an interim fueling station, VVTA is advancing zero-emission transit, cleaner air, and a more sustainable future. This milestone, along with our new VVTA branding, reflects the power of strong partnerships and our commitment to investing wisely today for generations to come.
