From 7-12 October, Wavecom exhibited at Busworld Europe in Brussels to showcase its wireless communication and IoT solutions.
At the event, Wavecom presented an array of solutions tailored to the needs of bus operators, transit agencies and passengers.
For example, its hardware and software packages provide real-time connectivity for buses, enabling operators to track and manage their fleets efficiently.
This technology also offers passengers access to onboard Wi-Fi, USB charging ports and infotainment systems to enhance their travel experience.
Wavecom’s solutions thus aim to enable better communication between passengers and bus operators.
Paulo Goncalves, Wavecom CMO, said:We are contributing at the highest level to connectivity on board public transport, which is increasingly critical, especially in systems that collect information for operations, such as ticketing or passenger information or geopositioning.
Fleet Management and Tracking
Wavecom’s fleet management and tracking solutions allow bus operators to monitor their fleets in real-time to optimise routes, schedules and maintenance processes.
By collecting and analysing data from buses, its technology helps improve fuel efficiency, reduce operational costs and minimise downtime. This ultimately leads to a more sustainable and efficient public transportation network.
Safety and Security
Wavecom’s presence at Busworld also highlighted its commitment to safety, with solutions including onboard cameras, emergency communication systems and remote diagnostics systems.
Its technology also offers real-time tracking and geofencing capabilities, helping to deliver a rapid response to incidents and emergencies.
Sustainability
Sustainability remains a key concern for the transportation industry, and Wavecom thus aims to deliver eco-friendly solutions.
At Busworld 2023, the company showcased its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of public transportation by supporting the operation of hybrid and electric buses, as well as providing software for optimising energy consumption and reducing emissions.
