Bus manufacturer, Wrightbus has announced its strongest start to a year, with nearly 200 new buses entering service across the UK and Europe in January alone.

Following a record-breaking 2024, the company aims to surpass expectations in 2025, consolidating its position as the fastest-growing bus manufacturer in the UK and Europe.

This month, Wrightbus delivered 162 ultra-low-emission Ultroliner double-deck buses to Greater Manchester’s Bee Network, fulfilling orders from operators including Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), Metroline, and Go North West. These vehicles will enhance the city’s public transport offering and contribute to its sustainability goals.

Meanwhile, in Germany, 31 Kite Hydroliner single-deck buses joined RVK’s fleet, part of Europe’s largest public hydrogen bus network.

To support its growing European footprint, Wrightbus has established AllServiceOne, a dedicated European service centre in Brühl, Germany. The facility represents an investment of over 500,000 GBP and will house a team of 15 experts by year-end. It will provide comprehensive servicing and maintenance for buses of all types, ensuring Wrightbus customers in Europe have direct access to specialised support.

Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales said:

With some significant orders on our books for the next 12 months, 2025 will be our strongest year ever. January has already been a phenomenal month, with almost 200 new Wrightbus vehicles entering service in the UK and Germany.

We’re proud to be part of Manchester’s Bee Network, and to be playing a huge part in Europe’s largest public transport hydrogen fleet with RVK.

The launch of our own dedicated AllServiceOne European service centre in Brühl is also a significant milestone for the business as we continue to build ties in Germany.

Wrightbus plans to produce over 1,200 buses in 2025, an increase from 1,016 in 2024, 623 in 2023, and 427 in 2022. This sustained growth highlights the company’s rising influence in both domestic and international markets.

To meet rising demand, Wrightbus is also expanding its workforce. The company, which currently employs 2,200 people, is offering hundreds of new roles across various departments, reinforcing its position as a major employer in the region.
