XCharge Group, a global leader in integrated battery charging solutions for electric vehicles, has partnered with SGS, the leading testing, inspection and certification company, to open a new charging station testing facility in Coslada, Madrid.
Both companies, recognized for their excellence and leadership in their respective areas, have decided to establish this strategic alliance to foster the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the country and promote the transition to a more sustainable future.
The site chosen for the installation of this test laboratory is the SGS Energy Technology Centre located in the town of Coslada, only 15 kilometers from the center of Madrid and close to Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas airport.
Initially, this Technology Centre will be used as test lab and will work with three of XCharge’s main chargers:
- C6EU: This is the company’s best-selling product. This compact and flexible charging station has a power output of 60 kW to 200 kW and has been awarded the Red Dot award.
- C7 Ultra-Fast charger: New to the market, this solution enables ultra-fast charging with a power output of up to 400 kW and offers an innovative and affordable design.
- Net Zero Series (NZS): A revolutionary solution with an integrative design, with 210 kW of power and up to 466kWh of storage that allows electric vehicles to charge directly from battery storage, rather than from the grid during peak hours. In other words, it offers more power with less grid supply, making it an ideal EV charging solution for areas with low electricity supply.
The new facility will also be used to manage chargers, in order to shorten product delivery times, and for training, in a further XCharge commitment to development and innovation.
Improving XCharge Product Reliability and Safety
The collaboration with SGS will improve the safety, speed and efficiency of XCharge Group’s products, enabling electric vehicle owners to enjoy a faster, more reliable charging experience, making electric vehicle purchases increasingly attractive.
It will also improve the experience for end users and potential partners, as those who wish to do so will be able to come to the facility to test electric vehicle battery chargers first-hand and do as much testing as they wish, with real-time technical support.
Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure in Spain
SGS and XCharge will work closely together to install charging stations in strategic locations such as car parks, shopping centres and companies. This initiative aims to expand the charging infrastructure and facilitate access to electric vehicle battery charging throughout the country.
Both companies are committed to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. Through this strategic partnership, SGS and XCharge will work together to accelerate the transition to cleaner mobility and help create a more sustainable future for generations to come. This alliance marks an important milestone in boosting electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Spain.
