Yutong has a history of supplying buses to Sri Lanka, having entered the market in 2010. One of its most notable contributions came in 2013, when the company delivered 100 ZK6930H coaches for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). Many of these vehicles remain in daily use, with the company reporting continued reliability in regular operations.

The newly launched C Series coaches, including the flagship C12 PRO, aim to respond to current public transport and tourism needs in Sri Lanka.

Yutong states that they have been designed with a focus on fuel efficiency, passenger comfort and digital connectivity, as well as being adapted to the local climate and road conditions.

Kent Chang, CEO of Yutong Asia Pacific said:

Sri Lanka is a key market for Yutong. The C Series coaches are customised for local needs, aiming to deliver superior travel experiences.

The C12 PRO model has already been introduced in several international markets, including the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Angola. In Sri Lanka, Yutong anticipates capturing a significant share of the coach market during 2025.

The company’s partnership with NCG Holdings is expected to support its expansion by providing access to a nationwide network of service centres, spare parts supply, and after-sales support.

In addition to a local service network and trained technicians, a 24/7 emergency response system has been established, with a stated aim of responding to customer issues within 30 minutes.

NCG Chairman Nikitha said:

As partners, NCG and Yutong are committed to delivering safer, more comfortable, and smarter travel experiences for every passenger in Sri Lanka.
