Yutong also signed a groundbreaking 400-vehicle electric bus deal with local operator WIL, marking the largest single order of new energy buses, the largest segment-specific order of buses, and the largest order of buses and coaches in Pakistan

Attendees at the launch ceremony included The Minister for Transport & Masstransit Department of Punjab in Pakistan, Deputy Consul General of Chinese Consulate General in Lahore, CEO of Yutong Bus Middle East, Wah Industries Limited Executive, CEO of Punjab Transport Company and the Chairman of Punjab Mass transit Authority.

Mr. Robin Shen, CEO of Yutong Middle East, stated:

Since entering the Pakistani market in 2008, Yutong has delivered over 3,000 buses, including fuel, hybrid, and battery electric models, capturing over 70% of the premium segments. The signing of this 400 order stems from our deep understanding of the local market and relentless technological innovation.

With industry-leading core technology and upgraded EnRoute+ services, Yutong is committed to supporting the sustainable development of Pakistan’s public transportation.

Yutong’s four new energy flagship models, the H9, H12, E9, and E12PRO have been designed specifically to operate in Pakistan’s local climate,

Both the H9 & H12 feature Yutong’s DMT hybrid system, which removes the gearbox and instead replaces it with high power-density generators and motors in an attempt to reduce mechanical failures whilst improving overall reliability.

The E9 & E12PRO feature a 1P68+IPK6K9K rated battery, motor and electrical control systems fitted with dust and waterproof protection. Each of the buses are fitted with all-electric heating/cooling air conditioning and battery systems that integrate liquid cooling in order to adapt to the local climate’s hot summers.

Each bus features a mud protection and anti-condensation design within the traction motor, which can aid in the reduction of waterlogging during the rainy season, and an air curtain above the passenger door to block outside heat from entering whilst boarding.
