Pelican Bus and Coach has showcased its U11DD double decker electric bus at this year’s Euro Bus Expo 2024 in Birmingham.
The all-electric vehicle, which is set to enter operation on First Bus routes within the United Kingdom, measures in at 10.9 metres and is capable of carrying up to 82 passengers (72 seated).
Powered by a Single PMSM motor, the bus is equipped with a 422.87kWh LFP battery, which utilises a liquid cooling system.
It also comes with one charging point capable of charging up to 150kW, with options to increase this to 300kW per hour at an extra fee.
The bus is also equipped with full air conditioning, USB charging ports, one wheelchair space, four priority seats and can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h.
Yutong’s presence at Euro Bus Expo 2024 also included its E12 Electric Bus, which is set to begin operation on Stagecoach services across various locations in England including Chesterfield, Slatyford, Rugby, Leamington, Nuneaton, Stockton, Preston, and Sunderland.
