Yutong Bus’ recent appearance at UITP Summit 2025 saw the company unveiling both its battery electric intercity bus IC12E and the premium city bus U12 at the event in Hamburg, Germany.

Showcasing the two new vehicles under the theme ‘Think Eco, Move Green’, Yutong aims to impact both the wider European market with the IC12E unit and the premium bus market with the U12.

The IC12E, a new-generation battery electric intercity bus – has been specifically designed for the European market

Specifically engineered for high-frequency intercity operations, the IC12E battery electric intercity bus features a maximum range of 610 km under SORT2 conditions, offering a 20% maximum gradeability.

The vehicle is set to undergo a three-day, 1,200 kilometre road test across four European countries beginning on 19 June.

Winner of the Busworld Design Label, Yutong’s 12-metre long U12 is capable of carrying up to 95 passengers whilst incorporating a high-strength, closed-ring body structure and YESS battery safety system.

The U12, a premium battery electric bus, has been specifically engineered for main urban routes
Jack Li, CEO of Yutong Central & Northern Europe, delivered a speech at the summit:

Yutong remains convinced that the future of public mobility lies in providing sustainable transportation solutions for our customers. We will accelerate our electrification journey with greater resolve, building a greener world through eco-friendly solutions.
