In-der-City-Bus GmbH (ICB) plans to operate a fully electrified bus fleet by the early 2030s. In support of this goal, it already operates 5 battery-powered Urbino 12 electric vehicles and 23 Urbino 12 hydrogen vehicles.

The new Urbino 18 hydrogen models will be powered by a 100 kW fuel cell. Additional batteries will also be installed in each bus to provide auxiliary power. Meanwhile, the hydrogen to power the buses will be stored in gaseous form in roof-mounted composite tanks.

The buses will be equipped with air conditioning with a heat pump heating function. ICB will also leverage Solaris’ eSConnect software for remote fleet management.
