AECOM has been chosen as the prime consultant for the development of a new electric bus garage in conjunction with the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Transit Commission’s (OC Transpo) multi-year Zero Emission Bus Project.

The project is set to see the city’s diesel bus fleet replaced with zero-emission vehicles, with a completion goal of 2036.

The new Zero Emission Bus facility located at the St. Laurent Boulevard Campus will house and charge 84 new electric buses
Richard Barrett, Chief Executive of AECOM’s Canada region, said:

We are drawing on more than 15 years of North American experience in zero emission technology to support the City of Ottawa’s transition to greener transit.

The City’s investment in their energy transition to zero-emission vehicles is one of the most impactful actions it can take to meet its reduction targets.

As prime consultant, AECOM has partnered with local organisation GRC Architects to design and develop both building and site infrastructure for the required planning, design and construction administration. The new electric vehicle garage will come equipped with the capacity to charge and house up to 84 vehicles.
