Alexander Dennis has announced that its Enviro200EV electric bus has been named on the shortlist in the Contribution to Sustainable Transport category of the 2026 Scottish Transport Awards.
The vehicle, Alexander Dennis’s new zero-emission single deck bus, builds on the existing design philosophy of the Enviro200 low-emission bus range, and has been designed to meet specific requirements of bus operation throughout both the UK and Scotland.

Offered in both midi and full-sized single deck lengths between 9.9m and 11.7m; the bus is equipped with a new, lightweight structure that aims to bring improved stiffness and reduced structural-borne noise.
With a design that seeks to keep weight to a minimum; the vehicle weights in two tonnes lighter than competitor products. It features 19.5-inch wheels, creating more space in the passenger area whilst utilising a wide entrance gangway that looks to improve accessibility.
On an 11.7 metre bus with two wheelchair bays, 16 forward-facing seats are available within the low floor area, and each bay is equipped with three tip-ups to provide a total of up to 22 step-free seats.
Alexander Dennis President & Managing Director, Paul Davies, said:Our next-generation Enviro200EV is the culmination of years of cross-functional development from our fantastic engineering, production and procurement teams, who have reimagined Britain’s most popular bus for the zero-emission age.
The Enviro200EV has been very well received since we first unveiled it to customers and stakeholders in Scotland at a ‘Meet the fleet’ event earlier this year. Its shortlisting for the 2026 Scottish Transport Awards is further recognition of the contribution it can offer for sustainable transport in Scotland and beyond.
The winners of the 2026 Scottish Transport Awards will be announced on 11 June 2026.
