This month saw the 2025 edition of the biennial event Busworld Europe take place at Brussels Expo in Belgium.
The show, which took place from 4–9 October, saw a total of 559 exhibitors from 40 countries showcase their solutions across the 82,000 square metre site.

With a total number of 45,427 visitors from across 101 countries; key moments from the event included the launch of VDL’s brand-new Futura 3 coach, the long-anticipated reveal of MAN Truck & Bus’ Lion’s Coach 14 E and the official presentation of Solaris’ new Urbino 10.5 Electric model.
The event also saw a renewed focus on autonomous vehicles with the unveiling of Karsan’s new Autonomous e-JEST electric bus and inclusion of Otokar’s two new e-CENTRO and the e-TERRITO self-driving buses.

Among the exhibitors were 81 bus manufacturers, an increase from 2023’s previous record of 66. In total, 209 vehicles were showcased inside and 29 showcased outside (totalling more than 3.5 kilometres if placed in one singular line).
405 accredited journalists, vloggers and photographers from 49 different countries attended the event, with a mix of 50 social media reporters and influencers showcasing proceedings to those watching all over the world.
2025 also saw the return of Busworld Europe’s long-standing Congress sessions, which included panels, keynotes and discussions from over 1242 industry stakeholders sharing insights with 22 representatives of the European Commission across 39 sessions.
Topics of discussion ranged from the socio-economic status of the EU bus and coach industry, safety, security, digitalisation and its effect on the industry, sustainability and circularity.
Jan Deman, Director of the Busworld Foundation, said:The overwhelming success of this congress is directly related to the strength of the consortium who organized it. My special thanks go all the members in the congress’ steering committee. This group ensured the current relevance of the topics for the daily work of PTAs, PTOs, and OEMs… and for the policymakers.
All sessions emphasised the strong links between regulations, the state of the technology, and the socio-economic situation in the industry. This will certainly remain the leitmotiv for future congresses.
Busworld Europe is set to return to Brussels Expo between 16–21 October in 2027.
