Earlier this week, BYD premiered two new electric buses at Busworld Europe in Brussels.

This included the world premiere of its 13-metre electric intercity double-decker coach: the BYD-UNVI DD13, which was developed in collaboration with coach bodybuild specialist, UNVI.

In addition, the 12-metre BYD eBus B12 made its European debut at the exhibition. This model is the first bus to feature BYD’s Blade Battery Chassis, offering enhanced safety, energy efficiency and range.

These new buses joined two established BYD models on show at Busworld 2023: the BYD eBus B19 and the BYD eBus B15.

BYD has partnered with UNVI to produce a new 13-metre double-decker coach for European public transport operators.

This collaboration brings together BYD’s expertise in battery and chassis technology with UNVI’s experience in body design and build technology.

The customisable model is also equipped with ADAS technology to meet greater safety standards.

BYD eBus B12 with Blade Battery Chassis

With its latest generation of 12-metre electric buses, BYD has presented its new electric bus chassis featuring a Lithium Iron Phosphate Blade Battery.

The chassis uses a new 6-in-1 controller with Silicon Carbide technology, along with with two wheel hub hairpin motors.

BYD states that this combination offers enhanced energy efficiency, performance and durability. With a maximum capacity of 500kWh, the Blade battery also delivers a range of up to 600 kilometres on a single charge.
