MAN Premieres 2 Low-Entry Buses at Busworld Europe

MAN Truck & Bus presented the world premiere of its Lion’s City 12 E LE and Lion’s Intercity LE 14 low-entry buses at Busworld Europe on 6 October.

Lions City 12 E LE

The Lion’s City 12 E LE is the first electric low-entry bus manufactured by MAN. It features up to 41 seats, as well as dedicated space for wheelchairs and prams. The seat comfort and floor design have also been adapted in response to customer feedback.

In addition, by eliminating an engine tower at the rear of the vehicle, more space is freed up for passengers and luggage.

Heinz Kiess, Head of Bus Product Marketing at MAN Truck & Bus, said:

“In particular, the fact that the seats in the rear of the vehicle are all facing in the direction of travel ensures that passengers are comfortable even on longer journeys.”

The vehicle will be launched later this year.

Lion’s Intercity LE 14

The Lion’s Intercity LE 14.43-metre bus is one of the shortest vehicles available in the three-axle bus market. However, this vehicle has a larger capacity than the Lion’s City 12 LE, offering up to 63 seats and can carry a maximum of 127 passengers.

The Lion’s Intercity LE will also be equipped with the MAN EfficientHybrid drive with an automatic stop-start system. The manufacturer’s comprehensive safety equipment will be implemented on all MAN buses produced from 2024.

A variant of this model is available with a third door at the rear of the vehicle, as displayed at the Busworld exhibition.
