Daimler Buses and ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft have completed the electrification of the electric bus depot in Wiesbaden, Germany.
This project commenced in 2019 and has culminated in the delivery of 120 battery-electric eCitaro buses and the installation of 120 charging stations.
Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH served as the general contractor for this project from planning to execution.
Its responsibilities included the installation of charging stations, electrical infrastructure development, and ensuring the integration of the new system into ongoing depot operations.
Till Oberwörder, CEO of Daimler Buses said:The major order from ESWE was not only special for us in terms of volume, it also laid the foundation for Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH and was therefore of strategic importance. The transport company ESWE needed a complete solution, meaning both vehicles and charging facilities. With our experience and knowledge, we were able to support our customer and electrify the depot in Wiesbaden. There is a clear demand for turnkey solutions and our new subsidiary is currently electrifying more than 20 depots throughout Europe. In this way, we are actively driving the transformation of our industry forward, working together with our customers.
The extensive project involved intricate underground engineering, the installation of an electrical substation, and comprehensive charge management.
This included adapting ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft’s software for e-bus operations and creating a bespoke operating concept to manage the electric fleet efficiently.
Daimler Buses will now offer continuous support over the next twelve years to ensure the reliability and availability of the installed systems.
