Métropole Rouen Normandie has ordered 15 Ebusco 3.0 18-metre electric buses via the UGAP public purchasing centre.

From 2025, this delivery will bring the total number of Ebusco buses operating in Rouen, France to over 100. They will join four Ebusco 2.2 buses already in service, as well as an additional 85 Ebusco 3.0 buses that are due to be delivered.

The 15 new Ebusco 3.0 18-metre buses will be fitted with 4 double doors and a battery pack of over 500 kWh. This will enable them to navigate the city’s steep roads while accommodating a large number of passengers.

Jean-Francois Chiron, Managing Director Ebusco France Sales said:

We are really delighted to continue our partnership with Metropole Rouen Normandie in their strategy of decarbonisation of their urban transport and it is great to see that the second order is placed through the UGAP purchasing group. With our production facility in Cléon, we can provide innovative, zero-emission buses with local content.

The electric vehicles will operate on  Métropole Rouen Normandie’s TEOR rapid transit lines. Their lightweight design and low energy consumption will enable the buses to cover the entire route on a single charge. They will then return to the depot for an overnight recharge using Ebusco charging systems.

The buses will feature an integrated optical guidance system to assist the driver when approaching platforms. In addition, the buses will be equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which improves vehicle traction and driver and passenger safety.

The vehicles will be manufactured at Ebusco’s site in Cléon.
