The Ebusco 3.0 18-metre model has a range of up to 700 kilometers

In designing the Ebusco 3.0 18-metre vehicle, Ebusco used lightweight composites to provide the vehicle with a starting weight of just 14,500 kilograms.

By combing this light weight with efficient battery packs of 350+ and 500+ kWh, the Ebusco 3.0 18-metre model has a range of up to 700 kilometres on a single charge and has a maximum capacity of 150 passengers.

Peter Bijvelds, CEO of Ebusco said:

“I am immensely proud that we are presenting this ground-breaking 18-meter bus today. With about a third of our workforce working in R&D and engineering, we continuously manage to develop at high speed. This has now resulted in the lightest and most efficient articulated bus in the world.”

The Ebusco 3.0 18-metre vehicle features composite side walls that have been injected with foam to provide high thermal insulation. This insulation further reduces energy consumption of the cooling and heating system and has a positive effect on the range of the bus.

In addition, the bus’s batteries have been integrated into the floor to provide the vehicle with a very low centre of gravity. This will enhance driver handling and passenger comfort.

The lightweight structure also allows all axles to be equipped with a single tyre, making it possible to create an extra-wide aisle that will improve passenger flow and accessibility.

Ebusco has already received several orders for this bus, including orders for Oslo, Örebro Län, Rouen and Växjö.
