Golden Dragon is delivering an electric bus technology training programme in Africa, which aims to foster the development of electric vehicles and energy storage technology.
This programme has been initiated by the Global Energy Interconnection Development Cooperation Organization in collaboration with the Chinese Mission to the African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the African Electric Power Utilities Association.
Throughout the six-day training, Golden Dragon is providing comprehensive feasibility analysis methods, training courses, and detailed reports on the development of the electric vehicle industry tailored for African governments and related industries.
The programme encompasses various topics, including the construction and operation of electric vehicle charging facilities, standards for electric vehicles, development experiences, policies related to the energy storage industry, and insights into project investment and financing.
The primary goal is to accelerate the establishment of energy interconnection in Africa, mitigate power outages, and foster electrification, industrialisation, and sustainable development across the continent.
The training programme has attracted nearly 200 participants from energy departments, power companies, universities, and research institutions across 25 African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, and Ghana.
Golden Dragon states that its participation in this training programme reflects its export philosophy of “teaching people to fish rather than giving them fish.”
