Icomera is Changing how America Commutes

Icomera US has been recognized as a 2024 Best Workplaces for Commuters Partner.

Recognized by the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), Icomera US is a 2024 Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC) Partner.

BWC is an innovative membership program that provides qualified workplaces, universities, and sites with national recognition and an elite designation for offering outstanding commuter benefits. Icomera has met the standard of excellence for a workplace based on our offering of:

  • Teleworking
  • Employee Shuttle, specifically to/from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Red Line North Bethesda Station
  • Bicycle Parking
  • Electric Vehicle Charging
  • Onsite Showers and Lockers
  • Onsite Amenities with Healthy Initiatives

In June 2023, we moved our U.S. headquarters to a new workspace in Rockville, Maryland – a short walk from the WMATA station.

Gabriel J. Lopez-Bernal, President said:

“This move bolsters Icomera US’s commitment to employee well-being and environmental responsibility.

“Our new HQ delivers convenience with accessible transit, a state-of-the-art gym, and dedicated wellness spaces. Imagine 2 million daily commuters commuting like this – that’s the collective change we’re driving. We’re not just moving workplaces, we’re moving the future of work.”

Sydney Sutton, Workplace Experience Manager said:

“Executive Plaza’s tenant-exclusive shuttle bus is a benefit to Icomera employees by serving as a commitment to sustainable transportation. With fewer employees driving to work, using public transit and taking advantage of the shuttle service for the last mile, Icomera has helped reduce traffic congestion and minimize greenhouse gas emission.”

Even though the commuting experience varies geographically, options for commuting, such as transit, carpools, and teleworking are economically and environmentally beneficial, yielding value to workers, employers, and our communities.

Harvard research cites that for every 15-minute increase in commute time, job satisfaction scores decrease another four percentage points.

Today, Best Workplaces for Commuters has partners in 22 states in the US, comprised of 600 workplaces who have the BWC designation.
