Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 3–5 November; this year’s Euro Bus Expo aims to showcase a range of practical responses to a number of the coach and bus industry’s largest operational challenges.
With over 200 exhibitors showcasing products and services spanning the full bus and coach supply chain, more than 80 vehicles from 31 manufacturers, dealers and converters will also be on display, including a number of UK and global launches.

Innovation Challenge 2026
As well as new launches and live demonstrations, visitors are invited to have their say on this year’s Innovation Challenge, which will see 20 entrants compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. Winners are decided by a combination of visitor votes and a judging panel, which will led by Keith McNally, Operations Director at CPT.
This year’s Challenge will see entries pitching a wide range of new technological solutions, from information analysis to the handling of routine tasks, resource planning and risk identification.
Solutions will include eCoachManager’s Astra and Optibus Agent, a set of AI assistants for control-room and operational tasks, whereas Ask Mosaiq, from Mosaiq by Snapper Services, aims to answer plain-language questions about network data. Ferdia CoPlanner aims to cut dead mileage through better vehicle, trip and depot planning and GreenRoad’s AskMila predicts emerging safety risks.
Elsewhere, other entries seek to target the systems operators depend on. Distinctive Systems will preview Coach Manager Cloud, which aims to bring private hires, contracts and quotations into one workflow upon its UK release in late November, whereas BusWhere’s DispatchAssist helps manage vehicle outages, HansaTech’s Mobifer Ops combines coach sales and operations, and Naviquate’s IQ1 provides transport data for journey planning and oversight.
Several entries focus on the passenger journey, from accessibility to information and ticketing. Masats’ AIDA uses AI to automate doors and ramps in response to passengers’ access needs, whilst ebblo Assist supports independent travel for passengers with visual or mobility impairments, and StarPal provides portable stop announcements. Fruit Bowl Co will launch Zest, which automates passenger publicity from timetable data. TransMach Systems’ TM700 ETM combines ticketing and operational functions, while Trackaroo Smart Pass lets pupils board using NFC keyrings.
Electric fleet technology also features within the competition, with Konvekta’s CO₂ heat-pump intelligent Climate Network for Electric Buses using its neXwork system to manage heating and cooling across the vehicle, Tenix Charge managing electric bus charging and LJ Create’s Electric Bus Panel Trainer supporting safe electrical fault-finding practice.
Completing the line-up, Camira’s RePlay Zero will showcase a brand-new upholstery fabric woven from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester.
Voting at the Innovation Challenge Gallery (stand 476) will remain open until 15:00 on Wednesday 4 November, and the 10 entries with the most votes will give 90-second pitches in the Masterclass Theatre from 10:15 on Thursday before the results are announced at 14:25 that same day.
A full list of all 20 entrants are available at the Euro Bus Expo website.
Practical Solutions
Beyond the Innovation Challenge, suppliers will aim to showcase how their new technology and services might address persistent operational pressures. Don’t Travel Empty will launch DTE One, a coach and vehicle management platform with a driver app, whilst Freeway Fleet Systems will demonstrate Ask Freeway, an AI-powered assistant that lets operators query maintenance records in everyday language.
Meanwhile, Alertek will demonstrate how repairing and refurbishing BAE Systems energy storage units can extend their life as an alternative to replacement, and Excel Resourcing will discuss additional workshop capacity, warranty campaign work and support for operators starting new franchise contracts.
Hankook Tyre UK will introduce the LB01 hot-cure remoulded urban bus tyre with Vaculug, and Kernow Oils will highlight Castrol’s relaunched Vecton commercial vehicle oil range, with Multi, Plus and Long Drain tiers. First Charge will explain how third-party operators, including electric coach fleets, can access First Bus’s depot charging network rather than install their own, and DH Drivers & Workforce Team will introduce its Service Bus Driver Division, supplying drivers for local routes, school services and park-and-ride.

Safety & Passenger Needs
Troman Industries will demonstrate Trident, which aims to combine thermal monitoring, alerts and fire suppression to give operators earlier warning of potential vehicle fires, and 2024 Innovation Challenge winner ShuttleID will present ShuttleVision, which, developed with Centrad, seeks to link ticket scans and vehicle tracking with CCTV footage to support safeguarding investigations.
Visitors will also be able to meet the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s new Bus Compliance Team, TrainFX will showcase all-new e-ink terminals for booking demand-responsive transport without a smartphone and Ventura Systemswill present its fifth-generation Inward Gliding door.
New Addition: Roundtables
Finally, this year’s event will see the debut of a set of eight roundtable sessions. These will bring coach and bus operators, local authorities and industry specialists together to explore shared challenges, exchange experiences and connect with peers.
With a focus on open discussion, sharing experience and practical anecdotes, the programme covers:
- Tuesday 3 November: “Driver retention: What makes people choose to stay?”, “Hydrogen: Where does the case stack up?” and “Enhanced Partnerships: What makes them work?”
- Wednesday 4 November: “Engineering and maintenance: What keeps the fleet moving?”, “AI and data: What actually works?”, “PSVAR from 2030: Compliance, investment and practical planning” and “Running the electric fleet: Protecting range, cost and uptime”
- Thursday 5 November: “Franchising beyond the city: What would work in rural areas?”
Places for these sessions are limited, with participation managed to ensure a full balance of perspectives. Interested parties can request a place at the Euro Bus Expo website until Friday 23 October.
