The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has unveiled plans to deliver a Superloop 2 network in outer London if re-elected next month.
This plan builds on the newly implemented Superloop network, which circles the UK capital.
Currently, the 138-kilometre loop connects key locations across outer London, adding more than six million bus kilometres to the network.
With Superloop 2, Sadiq Khan is now proposing to double the number of express bus routes delivered through this model.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said:The success of the Superloop is one of my proudest achievements, connecting Londoners in outer London & getting more people onto public transport. If I'm re-elected on 2 May, I'll deliver Superloop 2 - doubling the number of express bus routes.
The Superloop 2 routes will be subject to consultation with Transport for London (TfL).
Currently, the proposed connections include:
- Harrow to Barnet
- Barnet to Stratford
- Leytonstone to South Havering
- North Greenwich to Thamesmead
- Elephant and Castle to Lewisham
- Streatham to Eltham
- Richmond to Wimbledon
- Ealing Broadway to Kingston
- Hounslow to Hammersmith
- Hendon to Ealing Broadway
