Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced further additions and changes to bus services under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP), with new routes and extensions scheduled to begin from March 2026.

The BCEP was introduced in July 2024 to improve bus links for housing estates located further from MRT stations and to provide alternative travel options along rail corridors with high passenger demand.

Since the programme began, 27 new and extended services have been rolled out, and 62 existing services have been adjusted. LTA estimates that around 244,000 commuters use these enhanced routes daily, with changes aimed at reducing travel times and increasing route options.

The next phase of improvements follows consultations with Grassroots Advisers and community leaders, alongside reviews of network coverage and ridership patterns.

From 8 March 2026, a new feeder service, Service 831, will begin operating within Tengah. On the same date, Services 97 and 97e will be extended from Jurong East to Tengah, providing additional connections between the town and surrounding transport nodes.

Further changes are planned in the following months. Service 181 will be extended from Jurong West to Tengah. Three new peak-period services — 457, 458 and 459 — will serve Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol respectively, offering direct connections to the Circle Line and the Tai Seng employment area.

Additional peak-period routes will also be introduced in other estates. Service 460 will link Tampines Boulevard residents with Tampines MRT station via a faster route, while Service 461 will connect Yishun East with Khatib MRT station. A new City Direct Service, 684, will operate between Brickland, Bukit Batok West and the Central Business District.

Details of later service adjustments will be released nearer their implementation dates. The authority added that it will continue to review and update the bus network in line with travel demand and estate development.
