Dopravní podnik Ostrava (DPO) and Škoda Group have signed a new framework agreement for the delivery of up to 16 of the latter’s 26Tr battery trolleybuses.
The initial contract, which is valued at over 268 million CZK, will see Škoda deliver 14 vehicles in 2027, with the additional two vehicles remaining part of an option.

The new trolleybuses will be fully equipped with a modern information and ticketing system, and utilise a two-axle, fully low-floor design.
Each vehicle will be equipped with a camera system and be capable of travelling at least 15 kilometres on an in-built traction battery, reducing the need for a catenary system and allowing for the minimisation of impacts related to detours and closures.
Karel Majer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Škoda Electric in the Škoda Group, said:Ostrava has long been one of the most progressive cities in the field of urban transport, and we greatly appreciate the continuation of our cooperation.
The new 26Tr trolleybuses with battery range will bring greater flexibility, comfort and operational efficiency to both transport operators and passengers.
Measuring in at 12 metres in length; the Škoda 26Tr battery trolleybuses will join DPO’s current fleet of 75 vehicles, 58 of which are Škoda vehicles.
