With the new contract, transport operator ATM Milano has become one of Solaris’ largest recipients of zero-emission buses worldwide.

Delivery of the electric vehicles will begin in the first half of 2025, and consist predominantly of Solaris’ Urbino 18 electric buses.

The Urbino 18, which was launched at this year’s Busworld Expo, utilises Solaris High Energy batteries with a capacity of 700 kWh, and is capable of charging through both pantograph and plug-in technology. Local infrastructure has been adjusted to accommodate regular recharging along each route.

Javier Iriarte, CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., said:

Solaris e-buses have become a permanent fixture in the landscape of European towns and cities, pursuing their mission to boost zero-emission mobility.

Milan sets an impressive example by heavily investing in sustainable transport. We are very pleased to be a partner in this transition.

During 2023, Solaris has signed contracts for the supply of 98 e-buses to Cagliari, as well as 90 hydrogen buses for Venice, solidifying its position as one of the strongest suppliers of electric vehicles in Italy.
