Italy: IVECO BUS to Deliver 153 Electric Buses to Milan

IVECO BUS has won a contract to supply 153 electric buses to Azienda Trasporti Milanesi S.p.A. (ATM) in Milan, Italy.

This investment is valued at more than 120 million EUR and is part of ATM’s strategic plan to offer more sustainable and accessible mobility services.

This latest tender will see IVECO BUS deliver 153 new 12-metre E-WAY electric buses and provide full-service maintenance for a period of ten years. The first deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, with all remaining buses to be delivered by June 2026.

Domenico Nucera, President, Bus Business Unit, Iveco Group, said:

“We are proud to play an important role in Milan’s journey towards more sustainable mobility. The competitive total cost of ownership offering of IVECO BUS, combined with our close proximity to ATM, allows us to provide a tailored solution that meets the specific needs of this fast-paced city.”

Ultimately, ATM plans to convert its entire urban fleet of 1,200 electric buses to electric drives, while also making the required infrastructure and ecosystem changes. Specifically, its Full Electric plan aims for half of the buses in service in Milan to be electric by 2026.
