Public transport operator VR Sverige AB has ordered 81 Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric buses to serve suburban and intercity routes around Stockholm starting in 2026.

The new low-entry vehicles are classified as Class II, making them suitable for longer-distance regional services as well as metropolitan travel.

This order supports the ongoing transition toward zero-emission public transport in the Swedish capital.

The buses will be equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries and will feature a spacious interior and enhanced safety systems for both passengers and drivers.

Sverre Skaar, CEO of Solaris Sverige said:

I am very pleased that the VR operator has chosen Solaris as the supplier of 81 electric buses to the Swedish capital.

I am convinced that both passengers and drivers will enjoy the comfort of our vehicles. The purchase of such a large fleet of zero-emission electric buses is also a significant contribution to the development of sustainable transport in the Stockholom area.

With this latest order, the total number of Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric buses in Stockholm will rise to 225.
