Transforming Roads into Charging Assets with Inductive EV Charging Tech

On the island of Gotland in Sweden, the first Electric Road System (ERS) has been deployed. The road wirelessly charges large electric vehicles as they drive.

How it Works

Deployed under the road, safe for drivers, pedestrians and wildlife, this new technology enables all EVs (that are fitted with a special Authorized Receiver) to charge seamlessly as they drive, idle, or park over the ERS.

More Information about the Gotland, Sweden Pilot

1.6km of public road has been retrofitted to become an ERS as part of a 4.1km route between the town of Visby and the airport on Gotland Island. The electric bus serves as a public shuttle and the electric truck is being tested to ensure that the system will be ready for large-scale projects on highways.
