Arriva has showcased its new fleet of ultra-low emission buses for Tamworth during the Road, Rail and Ale Festival at Statfold Country Park.

Marking the company’s recent 2.5 million GBP investment in local bus services, the launch forms part of Arriva’s commitment to provide customers across Tamworth with modern and sustainable transport.

The new ultra-low emission Euro 6 buses represent a £2.5 million investment in Tamworth’s bus networkThe new fleet, made up of Euro VI Enviro 200 buses, will operate across the Tamworth town network, and is expected to deliver a 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions whilst saving roughly four tonnes of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions per year, helping to reduce particulate matter.

Visitors to the Road, Rail and Ale Festival were given the opportunity to see the new vehicles up close, meet members of the Arriva team and learn more about the bus services connecting Tamworth.

    In addition to the new vehicles; Arriva also aims to enhance the customer experience through investment in vehicle tracking technology and advanced data analysis tools, which will be used in a bid to enable more informed timetable planning that better reflects changing traffic conditions, as well as contribute to a 3% improvement in on-time performance.

    The company is also working with Staffordshire County Council to introduce a brand-new route later this year, which will provide new connections to a slew of key retail and leisure destinations across the area.
