Lumin-Air’s MERV-13 equivalent filtration quickly removes smoke and pollution particles in the air with low pressure drop. Charged filter fibers attract smoke and small particulate contaminants in the air and quickly remove them. To achieve this level of filter efficiency with uncharged media would require much denser filter media and much greater pressure drop.
