Yutong has launched its latest flagship U12DD battery electric double decker bus, with the company having held a recent roll-off ceremony at its Electric Bus Intelligent Manufacturing Factory in Zhengzhou City, China.

The new model features Yutong’s YESS battery safety protection system, with the vehicle’s battery, motor and electric control each reaching protection levels of IP68+IP6K9K, the highest standard found within the industry.

Equipped with SiC silicon carbide controllers and variable-frequency water pumps, energy consumption for the vehicle is cut by 10%, offering an overall lifespan of 2 million kilometres with its 621kWh battery reaching capacity in 2 hours.

Each vehicle is fitted with a three-door, dual-staircase configuration and can accommodate up to 120 passengers.

Featuring the company’s Link+ fleet management and intelligent cockpit systems, the new fleet is capable of offering operators remote monitoring and precise dispatching, enabling intelligent operations.
