Alexander Dennis has completed the delivery of 109 Enviro200 single-deck buses for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, with the final vehicle leaving the manufacturer’s Scarborough facility following pre-delivery inspections.
The fleet has undergone a detailed inspection process by the Combined Authority, including bumper-to-bumper checks and test drives to verify that the buses met the agreed specifications ahead of entering service.
The new vehicles will form part of the first phase of the Liverpool City Region’s franchised bus network, which is due to launch on 6 September in St Helens and the Wirral.
The order comprises 88 Enviro200 buses, which are 10.8 metres long, as well as 21 shorter 8.9-metre units. The fleet will operate alongside 58 next-generation Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV double-deck electric buses, which have also been procured by the Combined Authority for the franchised network.

The completion of the Enviro200 deliveries marks the end of the manufacturing phase for the single-deck fleet ahead of the introduction of franchised services, as the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority continues preparations for the first routes to transfer to the new operating model in September.
