Altamount Software GmbH (“Altamount”), part of CHAPTERS Group AG (“CHAPTERS”), has established Altamount Ignite (“Ignite”), a new entity building AI features into the software that public administrations, transport operators, utilities and critical infrastructure operators use every day.
The public sector is not short of AI ambition, but of AI solutions that actually work. Altamount closes the gap by building AI directly into the workflows end users already know, inside the products they work with every day. That means no data migration, no second tool and no large integration project. Just as important, all AI developments meet data protection requirements, data stays inside Europe, and it remains clear where the AI runs, which data it uses and how results are derived.

The basis was built inside the group with its own AI Hub, which gives teams access to today’s AI models while data stays inside the companies’ own networks. Personal and confidential data is filtered out, and every company can build its own knowledge bases and AI assistants on top. What one company builds, all others can reuse.

First results are in use, with more in development. In Altamount’s mobility vertical, PEAK Mobility’s public transport dispatching system now plans predictively beyond the next assignment, considering new e-bus-relevant criteria. Its staff scheduling solution Profahr is being rebuilt with a generative AI interface for adjusting rosters in plain language. In the public administration vertical, icomedias brings secure, locally run AI into its forms and workflow solution for police and emergency services: image analysis, transcription and document summaries. GBS’s IQ. Suite is moving towards AI-based contextualisation, starting with a shared mailbox agent that significantly reduces manual effort. In the energy vertical, Somentec is bringing AI-driven anomaly detection to meter reading and billing data, cutting manual effort and improving data quality.
This is only the beginning. More solutions are in preparation, and Ignite will support every company joining Altamount.
