Brigade Electronics Wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise

We’re Celebrating Our Prestigious Queen’s Award
Here at Brigade, it’s our mission to save lives by developing and marketing vehicle and mobile machinery safety solutions. We’ve been working hard to achieve our goal and we’re very proud that our products are used across Europe, the US, Canada and the rest of the world.

So we were delighted when we heard the news that we were to be honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise  in recognition of our international trade success.

The annual awards are presented to the most outstanding companies in the UK in the fields of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity (through social mobility). All awards are personally approved by Her Majesty the Queen and we’re thrilled to have been given the Royal seal of approval.

As well as being a significant honour for us, our award for international trade success means we’re entitled to use the esteemed Queen’s Award emblem on all our products and business literature for the next five years. And we’ll be proudly flying the Queen’s Award flag at our head office in South Darenth, Kent.

We started out in 1976 when our founder, Chris Hanson-Abbott, launched the very first reversing alarm in Europe. Since then we’ve developed a full range of commercial vehicle safety systems and products working with industries including transport, construction, freight & haulage, and waste management.

Our products include our bestselling Backeye® 360, which completely eliminates blind spots by providing a comprehensive view of the driver’s surroundings in a single image; Backsense®, which uses radar to detect moving or stationary object in blind spots, and is used in industries such as mining and agriculture; and our Mobile Digital Recorder (MDR), which records footage from vehicle-mounted cameras to provide irrefutable evidence in the event of an accident.

Founder of Brigade Electronics, Chris Hanson-Abbott, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this honour. It’s testament to the hard work of our amazing team, who are all fully committed to Brigade’s mission to save lives. We work with commercial organisations across Europe, as well as the US and Canada, and we’re very proud of all our products and how they’ve helped to dramatically improve road and worksite safety. To be recognised for our expertise with such a prestigious award is truly wonderful and a real boost as we continue our research and development of commercial vehicle safety systems.”
