In the Czech Republic, the city of Pardubice has extended its partnership with Škoda Group to order eight additional twelve-metre Škoda 32 Tr trolleybuses.
This contract is valued at over 107 million CZK (4.25 million EUR), with the vehicles scheduled for delivery in mid-2025.
The new vehicles will enhance the city’s fleet to help deliver a reliable and modern transport experience for both passengers and drivers.
In addition to using catenaries, the Škoda 32 Tr trolleybuses will be equipped with traction batteries. This will enable four of the units to operate independently across distances of up to 12 kilometres. The additional vehicles will also be provided with enough capacity for an emergency range. This addition will offer enhanced operational efficiency and flexibility.
Radek Svoboda, Director of Škoda Electric in the Škoda Group said:Trust is the basis of any long-term partnership. It is almost unbelievable that Škoda trolleybuses have been seen in the streets of Pardubice for over 70 years. Pardubice deserves reliable public transport that meets the most demanding requirements of passengers, drivers and operators. And for that, of course, quality vehicles are needed. I am glad to see that the Transport Company of the city of Pardubice has chosen us again. It proves that this is exactly what our trolleybuses are.
The new buses will travel at speeds of up to 65 kilometres per hour. What’s more, they will feature a manually operated boarding platform at the second door to facilitate seamless boarding and alighting.
Additionally, each trolleybus will be equipped with modern amenities, including advanced passenger information systems, ticketing facilities, and onboard cameras.
The low-floor vehicles will also offer air conditioning, USB charging ports, and comfortable seating.
They will join 62 Škoda trolleybuses already in operation, as well as ten Škoda 32 Tr trolleybuses ordered for the city last year.
