Ireland’s National Transport Authority (NTA) has announced an Early Market Engagement opportunity as it prepares to procure a framework for the delivery of Electric Bus Charging Infrastructure.

The NTA is projecting the installation of over 2,000 high-powered DC charging stations as part of this initiative.

The Early Market Engagement will help the NTA to better understand the market and available technologies ahead of this procurement.

This engagement is being conducted prior to the release of a formal tender. The framework is expected to cover various aspects, including the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and long-term support of the Electric Bus Charging Infrastructure.

Eoin Gillard, Assistant Director of Transport Investment the NTA has set out the scope of the project and reasoning for engaging with the market in a recent video.

This announcement marks a key step in Ireland’s efforts to enhance its sustainable transport network and support the growing demand for electric buses across the country.
