IVECO Bus has won its largest zero-emission order in Italy, with a contract to deliver 411 electric buses to ATAC (Azienda per la mobilità) in Rome.

This contract is valued at more than 300 million EUR and is part of ATAC’s strategic plan to offer more sustainable, efficient and accessible mobility services in the Italian capital.

The order consists of 12 and 18-metre-long vehicles

Alongside the supply of the new electric buses, IVECO Bus will also supply maintenance services for the vehicles for a period of 10 years.

The first deliveries are expected to commence by the end of 2024, and all remaining buses will be delivered by mid-2026.

Domenico Nucera, President, Bus Business Unit, Iveco Group, said:

We are extremely proud to be a key contributor to Rome’s transition towards greener and more efficient mobility. Our increasingly strong offering in the field of electric passenger transport is being recognised across the entire Italian market, and internationally as well, confirming our position as a leading partner. Extending this to the capital of Italy, the ‘Eternal City’, is a fitting way to begin 2024, after closing a very satisfying year in terms of orders for IVECO BUS.
