This order further strengthens Karsan’s position in Romania, which was the first country to receive exported e-ATA electric buses in 2022.

Karsan CEO Okan Baş said:

We first exported born electric Karsan e-ATA to Romania in 2022. As of today, our electric vehicle fleet in Romania has reached 238 units. The strong interest in Karsan products is very gratifying, as we are one of the largest electric vehicle manufacturers operating in the Romanian market. Elsewhere in Romania, Karsan has also recently secured orders to supply 36 e-ATAs to Satu Mare, Campuling, Horezu, Teccuci and Petrosani. With the addition of 25 units for Iași, it is thus manufacturing 61 e-ATA vehicles to be delivered to the country this year. These units will join 79 e-ATA vehicles already operating throughout Romania.

The e-ATA model can be equipped with battery packs ranging from 150 kWh to 600 kWh, providing a range of up to 450 kilometres under real driving conditions.

Thanks to its fast-charging technology, the buses can be recharged in as little as one to four hours, depending on the size of the battery pack.
