Škoda Group has showcased its Skoda 32Tr trolleybus during InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin.
The vehicle has been developed for use in the city of Esslingen, Germany, and marks the first time the manufacturer has built a trolleybus for the country as a whole.
With an operational range of 30km off-wire; the vehicle has been specifically configured for SVE, and is currently undergoing a battery of tests throughout the city.
Capable of carrying up to 70 passengers, the trolleybus is equipped with a 130 kWh battery, 160 kW traction motor, and regenerative breaking.
Each bus features dedicated door layouts optimised for local operation, electric wheelchair and stroller boarding ramps, modern passenger information systems, onboard Wi-Fi, and automatic passenger counting.
In total, Škoda will deliver 10 12 metre trolleybuses (32Tr) and 42 articulated trolleybuses (33Tr) to Esslingen, with full passenger operation scheduled for the near future.
