Pailton Engineering is a global leader in the design and manufacture of steering systems for Commercial and Military vehicles. From our base in Coventry, England, our 90,000 sq. ft. factory offers fully incorporated design, test and production facilities to the latest quality and manufacturing standards.
We are focussed on assisting mid-volume Original Equipment (OE) vehicle manufacturers with bespoke engineered solutions for their driveline systems. Many of our blue-chip customers have been loyal to us for over 30 years; valuing our design expertise, support, product knowledge, quality and service. Bus & Coach
In Europe, buses and coaches cater for 55 per cent of public transport requirements. Every minute of every day, in countless towns and cities around the world, there are thousands of passengers depending on bus or coach services, for social, commuting and business purposes.
Passenger vehicles undertake long journeys, through turbulent weather and carrying varying weights, and the steering systems for these vehicles have to be designed and manufactured with this in mind. Pailton’s bespoke steering systems, from sliding steering shafts to suspension links, are tested against these relentless conditions, ensuring the vehicle is agile and nimble when driving at speed, changing lanes and manoeuvring.
Testing to the Limits
We carry out in-house validation testing to determine endurance and maximum load, testing against incidents such as curb strikes and pot holes that a bus or coach will face from time to time. Environmental testing is also undertaken to ensure a large steering system is protected sufficiently from moisture, temperature fluctuations and humidity variance.

For niche steering and suspension parts, like those used in HVGs, construction and utility vehicles, Pailton Engineering’s specialists can create and test bespoke components. For example, we manufacture panhard rods, bevel boxes and drag link assemblies, at lower volumes, offering design flexibilityand a faster time to market.
