Transport for London (TfL) has introduced an additional two new Superloop routes in London.

This includes the launch of the SL10 express bus service between Harrow and North Finchley and the SL1 service between North Finchley and Walthamstow Central.

The Superloop is a network of express routes in outer London that aims to maximise the benefits of the London-wide ULEZ expansion.

TfL data shows that ridership demand on the current Superloop routes has already increased above the network average level. For example, the average weekly demand on route SL7 has seen a 62 percent increase since the Superloop branding was introduced.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said:

It is fantastic to see the Superloop already encouraging more people onto London's bus network. It's proving a real game-changer. Now people travelling in outer London are getting another boost before Christmas with two brand new routes coming into service, making it easier to see friends and family, or to visit local town centres or services. I'm delighted to see so many Londoners benefitting from the Superloop so far, and there's much more to come.

With the latest expansion of the network, SL1 is offering enhanced transport connections between transport hubs and town centres in Barnet, Enfield and Waltham Forest, while also providing extra bus capacity on the busiest parts of the route.

Meanwhile, SL10 has been launched as an electric express route, served by new buses equipped with USB charging ports.

The Superloop loop will be complete by Spring 2024, with the launch of SL2, SL3 and SL5. The SL4 running from Canary Wharf to Grove Park will then open in 2025.
